Did you know that...

Enough office waste paper is thrown away each year to build a 12- foot wall between Los Angeles and New York City.

1. One ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees or 7,000 gallons of water.
2. One ton of recycled paper uses: 64% less energy, 50% less water, 74% less air pollution, and creates 5 times more jobs than one ton of paper products from virgin wood pulp.
3. One ton of recycled paper saves 3,700 pounds of lumber and 24,000 gallons of water.
4. Today, nearly 45% of all paper products in the U.S. are recycled. America's paper companies are committed to recovering half of all paper used in the year 2000 -- that's our goal.
