Getting Started
Recycling with Earthworm is easy. Heres what you need to do to get started: 1. Select an Office Recycling CoordinatorThe Office Recycling Coordinator will be Earthworm's primary contact and will be responsible for overseeing the program within your office. This job doesnt take much time and will ensure that your recycle program stays on track. 2. Conduct an Office SurveyGo around your office and identify an area where you can store paper to be collected for recycling. Make sure this location is easily accessible by our wheeled bins or handtrucks. If finding a suitable spot is difficult, call us and we can make alternative suggestions. 3. Post and Distribute Memos, Signs, or Other Communication MediaKeep your co-workers informed of the hows, whys and successes of the program. Earthworm will provide signs and yearly tonnage totals. Everyones participation is essential for a successful recycling program. Be sure to communicate the following:
STORAGE AND EQUIPMENTEarthworm understands that not all offices are the same. That's why we offer you a choice of storage equipment for your paper. Choose what is best for you! BoxesWe are willing to collect paper that you have stored in cardboard boxes. Most offices simply use the boxes that their copier paper comes in. Remember to save the lids so that the boxes will stack neatly in your office while awaiting pick up and don't fill up a large box that cannot be lifted when full. BarrelsSome offices prefer to use wheeled, plastic barrels to store their paper in. Earthworm will provide all companies with one free barrel and additional barrels at $39.95 ea. These barrels are 34 gallons in size (approx. 24" x 24" x 38" tall) and hold roughly 4 or 5 boxes worth of paper. HampersFor larger offices, Earthworm provides wheeled hampers to store paper in. These hampers are loaned at no cost but must be filled within 4 weeks. Dimensions are 31" x 44" x 39"H.
