Earthworm Promotes Recycling and Conservation

Earthworm has promoted recycling and conservation throughout greater Boston since 1970 and is a clearinghouse for recycling information.  Our educational programs are funded in part by the proceeds from our commercial recycling service. Your waste paper supports our educational efforts.

Assistance to Local Educational Organizations

Earthworm actively supports local non-profit organizations that work to educate the public about the benefits of the wise use of natural resources. This support comes in the form of technical, material and financial assistance. Each year Earthworm awards a cash grant to local, non-profit educational organizations with similar missions. Organizations that we have recently helped include ExCL (Extras for Creative Learning), TecsChange, and Earthworks.

Recycling Hotline and Waste Referral Service

Earthworm operates the area's longest-running free recycling telephone hotline.  Call us at 617-628-1844 or e-mail info@earthwormrecycling.org and we’ll give you up-to-date information on recycling programs, markets and the latest recycling trends and techniques.  We’ll also help you find outlets for your scrap materials.

Specialty Library on Recycling and Solid Waste

Earthworm maintains one of Boston’s best free libraries on recycling.  Come learn more about recycling!  We’re open Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.
